SAP transaction testing made easy through SAP recording and playback, Part -1

*SAP transaction testing made easy through SAP recording and playback* SAP Recording and playback testing option has been given from ages but my feeling is we do not use this functionality so often even though it reduces the initial transaction testing time drastically. My personal experiance was really good with this testing mechanisam and we have reduced 90% time on initial transaction testing for SAP upgrade project. With the following steps you will be able to record any SAP transaction for testing, data entry etc and playback the recording ( VB Script ) without any ABAP envolvment but you need to know the little bit of a VB Script coding, but this is not a point to be worried. There are lot of sample testing scripts available on the internet you just have to google it. Also i shall try to give tips and tricks *Step – 1* Ensure wthether ” Script Recording and Playback ” option is active or not. This option should be active if you want to record. If this option is not active then follow below steps else jump to *Step – 2* 1. Transaction code : RZ11 2. Enter Param. Name : sapgui/user_scripting and click on ” Display ” Button 3. Dflt value , ProfileVal & Current value should have been set to FALSE. Click on ” Change Value ” button and enter ” New value : TRUE ” 4. Save the transaction and logoff from SAP and relogin. Now you must be able to see ” Script Recording and Playback ” option active  *Note:* If you dont have a access to RZ11. Contact your Basis team or ask Basis team to activate above option. * *
