Collaboration via the Central Sharing Tool

The Central Sharing Tool (CST) is the next evolutionary step of the SAP CRM user interface regarding usability and flexibility for the business user. The main advantage of the Central Sharing Tool lies in the ability to share Tags, Favorites, Saved Searches and Favorite Reports across Business Roles, User, Organizations and Positions. It is a powerful tool to share items across organizational units much quicker. It is possible to share multiple share types with your colleagues or your manager etc. On the next log in the recipient sees the shared item in his sharebox at the home page. The Share Tool can be accessed from the home screen or from any other screen in SAP CRM. By clicking at the shared item in the shared inbox, the user will navigate to the shared item like e.g. a dashboard, an opportunity etc.

The user can perform 4 actions on a shared item. These are the following:

  • View Message
  • Forward
  • Add to central (Note: Add to central is only available to Saved Search items)
  • View Recipient

When the user selects the view message action on field he can view the attached message to the shared item.


With the “Forward action Button” he can forward the shared item to another share entity. The Central Share Tool is already pre-populated with the shared item.



When the user selects the “Add to Central action” he can push the shared saved search to the central search for quick access.



The User has also the possibility to personalize the Sharebox:


He can create “New Folders”, “Rename Folders”, “Delete Folders or Items” and “Drag and Drop Folders or Items”.
