The conventional wisdom goes something like this: leave the big new releases to the system integrators and other consultancies. Let them deal with the bumps in the road, and wait for the next release for a smoother migration.  But what if you're not on the current release, and you've been waiting for some of the less popular "features" to be resolved?  What if you've been making do with a home-grown solution or another toolset that you know you've outgrown?

Since the ramp up for SAP BusinessObjects GRC 10.0 is just starting this month, very little official information has been available to most of us here on SDN. However, if you've been keeping up with the discussions on the GRC forum here on SDN, you are probably already aware that the new release will be on the ABAP platform. That alone is a big enough change that naysayers may want to think twice about holding back from upgrading, especially if you are the one who has been living with frustrations on one of the earlier releases.

What else is new in GRC 10.0? What are the points of frustration that customers have been awaiting improvement? What's in it for us if we decide to upgrade sooner rather than later?  If we deploy the 5.3 release and then upgrade, will everything migrate or will there be a lot of rework? If you have been wondering about these and other questions, be sure to join us on Monday for the SAP Mentor Monday public web cast on what's new in SAP BusinessObjects GRC 10.0. We'll set the stage with a brief overview of challenges from the customer perspective, then jump into what's new in GRC 10.0, with a more in-depth focus on the Access Control solution and the new features of its components. This will be your opportunity to hear from SAP's product management, Michaela Zwinakis, Vice President, Solution Management at SAP, and pose your questions to her.  You will be able to make a more informed decision about the timing of your upgrade or deployment, so don't miss out on this great opportunity.
