Hoping to draft in the success of the presumed popularity of the Mobility Buzz Decoder Ring podcast, the Diversified Semantic Layer team (Eric Vallo, Greg Myers, and Jamie Oswald) took on the topic of BI in the field with special guest Jeff Duly of Dow Corning. Below are some highlights to watch for.

  • :40 in the news. ASUG Annual Conference Call for Abstracts ends Friday
  • 1:35 HANA Discussion. Because we haven't all heard enough about that.
  • 4:33 Finally, we all talk about mobility. We are all talking from landlines and laptops. Bunch of hypocrites.
  • 4:48 ASUG Mobile SIG plug.
  • 6:51 We compare our devices. And then realize they are all pretty much the same thing. Because they are all Apple.
  • 8:10 What options do we have with BOBJ?
  • 9:43 What's the difference between libel and slander?
  • 10:38 We start shamelessly plugging everything and everyone, discuss Flash/Xcelsius, and Greg goes out of his way to tell SAP what to do.
  • 13:22 Discussions on usability. Jeff really makes a great point here.
  • 14:45 People need rules. People need the data. People needed guided analytics.
  • 18:26 When trying to put BI on a mobile device, dashboards (and executives) are probably a smart place to start.
  • 22:40 What about external mobile facing BI?
  • 23:25 Greg Myers, future mobile application developer?
  • 24:17 Explorer Fanboy Eric Vallo inserts himself into the conversation.
  • 29:03 Is investing in mobile technologies worthwhile today? Spoiler: I voted yes.

Hope you all enjoyed it, we certainly did. To stay in the loop, subscribe via iTunes or keep an eye on us on our website.
