Thanks for the blog. There is increasing demand for students who are part of te University Alliances Program (UAP) to learn Business Object skills. The tutorials you have provided links to will go a long way towards facilitating this. The students can use trial copies of Crystal Reports and Xcelsius to apply the tutorial knowledge. What would be good would be a sandbox which universities and students could be used to develop skills in Web Intelligence and Advanced Analysis. There is an ECC sandbox available for ECC skill development.
Regards
Paul
I know it would be a bit more difficult to provide trial copies of WEBi and Advanced Analysis. ECC is SAP's ERP system. So I am suggesting a BOBJ sandbox system which students could connect to with trial versions of the software.

Paul
We have considered such suggestions in the past and continue to review this regularly.
This is how University Alliances came to the current idea of offering an extended semester-long trial for desktop software - Crystal Reports and Dashboard Design (formerly Xcelsius) - to universities. In fact, SAP BusinessObjects normally only offers a 30 day trial, so to extend the trial for a full semester involves logistical resources to accomodate each product a few times a year. We in UA also arranged the licensing and processed the placement in the portal for these free offerings.
For WebI, we have reviewed the requirements and come to the conclusion that to properly deliver and support this product, we should use our standard, advanced peer-hosting methodology for anyone who is or would like to become members of our University Alliances program. This involves licensing each university with a SAP UA agreement on a donation basis, and asking the member universities to contract with a non-profit University Competence Center for hosting service.
You can get what you need this way. Please contact your UCC or UA representative and they will gladly assist you.
Best Wishes

I'm looking forward to more additions!
