Podcast: “Mobility for the Rest of Us” – Q&A with SAP Mentors John Appleby & Jon Reed

It all started when I returned from SAP TechEd in Las Vegas and caught up on some of the blogs about the event. John Appleby had written SAP’s Mobile Strategy: Really? and I could only follow about 70%. When I asked him for more information, the idea was born to create a podcast that would explain mobility “to the rest of us”, even a marketing person like me.

As everybody knows that Jon Reed is = Mr. Podcast, and always interested in SAP education, I asked him if he could possibly spare an hour out of his busy schedule to make this podcast happen. He generously agreed and you can listen to the resust here (warning: 29 minutes).

If you make it to the middle you will get to listen to some light-hearted banter between Jon & me while Mr. Appleby is trying to get back into the recording after his fancy phone dropped his call. I expected Jon to cut this out but I hope it has some entertainment value :-).

If you don’t have time to listen to the whole podcast but would like to read the “nuggets”, you can do that on Jon’s website. He alwyas provides a great timeline with highlights.

I really enjoyed listening to the podcast even though I would not consider myself part of the target audience. 🙂

Still, it's a great primer and it was entertaining to listen to while driving home today. Too bad, all the ranting about John was cut out 😉 /JK

I think that such podcasts are important to ramp up people that may be new to it, so that's good community work here.

And there's other learnings for me. I mean Jon's podcast is well reknown and it is always interesting to watch/listen and learn from veterans and pick up a thing or two about podcasting and being a mentor.

      Or in short: #ilike

Thanks a lot for the #like.

Funny, I listened to it driving home in my car too. And maybe Jon kept the edited bits and can share them as a "special edition" :-).

      Hey Matthias,

For sure, this podcast wasn't aimed at you, definitely more at people who want some demystification. Glad you enjoyed it still.

Jon Reed is a master at this stuff, it's always a pleasure to podcast with him. Hopefully we laid this at the right level.
