I was privileged to represent SAP during the shooting of this video. Having never been to Midland, MI (Dow Chemical Corporate Headquarters) before, I started booking travel into Detroit, with a rental car in mind. That was before I mapped the route, which would be over 120 miles from the airport...I opted for the puddle-jumper. This seemed like quite a trek, but many from the East have ventured west in search of gold before, and I was now one of them. Interestingly enough, I found at least two nuggets (pun intended) awaiting me in the city of Midland. The first was one of the most fabulous restaurants I have enjoyed, called The H Hotel Table Restaurant (but you will have to read my culinary blog for more on this topic). The second was the Dow story found in this video.
Let me state that the hospitality shown by the Dow team was outstanding (thanks). But, when Sandy Hartman-Holbrook (Dow Finance manager) began speaking, I quickly realized that this would be very special and we had come across a gem. She did a great job condensing the value-driven story of Dow’s use of the SAP Accelerated Close solutions into a very consumable 4.35 minutes. Comments like “Ease and flexibility of the Financial Closing cockpit are actually fantastic” and “I don’t have to worry about the close” (when was the last time you said that?) are what make this recording a must-see video.
The SAP Financial Closing cockpit and SAP Central Process Scheduling solutions help standardize the closing cycle, providing greater control and efficiency. They include task scheduling and automation, collaboration and monitoring throughout the entire close cycle. Additionally, they enable greater speed, reliability, transparency and compliance in financial period-end close processes.
