Extended Warehouse Management

Course Goals     Describe the Extended Warehouse Management system environment.    Understand the master data and organizational elements required by the Extended Warehouse   Management component    Use theWarehouseMonitor and the RF[1] framework to process EWM transactions.    Outline the various documents used within the EWM application processes and   understand their relationship to delivery documents created in the ERP system.    Describe the inbound and outbound processes and related documents in EWM.    List various internal processes that exist within the EWM component. 

Course Objective 

Describe the Extended Warehouse Management system environment for bothcentralized and decentralized operation. List and define the organizational elements used by the EWM system anddescribe their relationships. In addition, you will be able to describe the masterdata requirements of EWM and explain how material master data and partnerdata can be transferred from the ERP system to the EWM system. Use the Warehouse Monitor to display EWM data and execute variouswarehouse processes. You will also be able to use the RF framework to processEWM transactions in an RF-enabled setting. Process EWM transactions in inbound and outbound processes and understandthe roles that various EWM documents play in the processes. Describe various EWM internal processes such as Labor Management and

Slotting.[1]


[1] Note Slotting  During slotting, a storage concept is automatically determined for a product. The system determines the underlying storage parameters that are relevant for putaway on the basis of master data, that is, product data, requirement data, and packaging data. These parameters describe the storage section in which the product is to be stored, the properties that the storage bin is to have, and the putaway strategy that is to be used. Slotting takes into account master data that is not dependent on the execution process. If the putaway process for a product is dependent on execution parameters, this dependency is taken into account later on during storage bin determination for putaway. This does not, however, have an effect on the results of slotting.
