SAP NetWeaver BPM and Visual Composer
SAP NetWeaver Business Process management (BPM) is an application to model and run your composite applications. SAP BPM is based on BPMN modelling notations an industry standard widely used in recent times.
Human step (Human activity as it is known in BPMN) is an integral part of any business process. Process will involve step which need human interaction. Human interaction means UI. SAP BPM can work with three UI technologies (many more to come in future) viz., Web DynPro (both ABAP and Java), Adobe forms and Visual composer. This article talks of ways of creating/ re-using Visual Composer UI in SAP BPM
1. A process developer can design his UI from scratch or import an UI model that is already available, And then open the task –> Overview tab click the ‘Choose’ in the User Interface section.
Select Visual Composer in the UI technology and serch for the UI component he wishes to use.
By doing so he is associating the VC model to this particular task.
2. Creating new VC UI is made easy with the generate UI option available in the Process Development perspective
In project explorer you can right click on the Tasks folder and create a new Task. While doing so you get an option to generate the UI. You can generate the UI based on any context data that is availabe in a process.
