Landscape Verification 1.0 for SAP Solution Manager – System Demo

The system landscape description in SAP Solution Manager is vitally important for many processes in application life-cycle management, very prominently for all maintenance tasks where the Maintenance Optimizer is involved, such as the installation of recent SAP enhancement packages for SAP ERP. However, due to the fact that many steps that lead to the landscape description in SMSY have to be calculated on ambiguous data or done manually, the description will probably contain errors, will be ambiguous, or uncomplete. This, however, will very probably lead to problems during systems maintenance.

Add-on landscape verification 1.0 for SAP Solution Manager is generally available since October 29 2010. It allows you to check your landscape description in SAP Solution Manager to find the aforementioned problems and show you a way to solve them. Here, I’d like to give a demo of the tool in two parts: 

• Part I: Roles, Start, Navigation
  In this first part of the demonstration you learn about required roles, how to start the tool, and what the UI looks like.
• Part II: Error Solving
  In the second part of the demonstration an example of an error is shown from where it occurred, how it was found and solved, to the refresh of verification results.
