My first WIKI page about Logistic Extractor and the experience..!

In one of the implementation project, we were facing an issue with the logistic extractor 2LIS_04_P_MATNR. After activating the content, extractor was not able to pull data. We were wondering why this is happening even though the log for filling setup table was showing some no. of records inserted. After lot of efforts, we managed to get records through the extractor.

The solution was simple, but it made very difficult because of the lack of awareness about this extractor and very less information on SDN and SAP Help. So I thought to write something about this issue and solution we provided so that if somebody faces the same issue, he can get the solution with less efforts.

So I had written one blog about it and released for review. I was very excited about the blog. But I received email from SAP mentor saying that –

The content is more suited for the WIKI where this could be excellent material which could be easily indexed and searched by many…

For more helpful tips see our blog guidelines: https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/CRk

The blog was more about the technical thing and as per the moderator and SDN guidelines, the blog’s content was more suitable for wiki. I agreed and started creating WIKI page. I wanted to publish the content under ‘Business Intelligence‘ hence, I was trying to add page under main BI page. But there was no option to add page which I was seeing at some other WIKI pages which were irrelevant BI.

Somehow managed to create page, but was struggling to add pictures now.  So wrote email to SCN team about the issue. That time, SCN team was upgrading WIKI area. I thought may be it was causing the issue.

I was waiting for the SAP’s reply. In the meantime, I freshly started reading “How to Contribute” about how to create WIKI pages and add pictures. After reading the content very keenly, I realized what I made mistake to create my very first WIKI page.

First, you can not create WIKI page under the desired page directly (example- Business Intelligence). Wiki Stage– This is the area where you have to create your pages first. So using ‘Add Page’ functionality I created my first page. Thanks to SAP, they have provided the excellent templates which made my first WIKI page neat and sober. Before getting reply from SAP, I was able to create page with pictures. Yes, here I was able to add pictures too very easily. Here, you have to mention where you want to place your page and provide link for the same.

Thank you for the SAP mentors and moderator (Arun Varadarajan)who had listened the issues patiently and for the excellent guidance.

Happy reading and do not hesitate to add/modify the content of this page.

Thank you..!
