4 Nov 2010 Postal Bulletin – IMpb
In today’s Postal Bulletin the USPS provides standards “for the optional use of Intelligent Mail(R) package barcodes (IMpb).” This is the only DMM revision in this bulletin and appears to be the only item that would affect Presort; there are the “normal” minor PO changes, updates to Overseas Military Mail, etc., but nothing else that would alter how Presort needs to function.
The IMpb uses the GS1-128 symbology, currently a requirement for electronic Confirmation Services and the Electronic Verification System (eVS). If you already participate in those programs, you won’t need to change your symbology, but some of the data elements and layout may change. Check out the PB for the details.
