Hi, I have done the same in one of my case...but i dont think you can play in production systems (creation of port..creation of file in logical paths..)...but we can try the same in QAS or DEV systems .. Any how good thought to share this..also there was tcode SXDATOOLS(dont remember exactly..) for uploading /downloading files in PI if CG3Z/CG3Y does not allow for file operations..
In production systems you sure need to be carefull. The best way is to replicate it from QA system to Dev, most safest. I agree on that.
It's still possible to do it on production, if you have dummy file port and write it to a directory which is not connected to PI or any other middleware system or program which picks up files. Also you need to clean up the files created on production.
