The interest towards all the available mobile solutions SAP and Sybase presented were amazing. All sessions were either completely or near to booked out. The mobile team was busy from 8 o’clock in the morning to 8 o’clock in the evening holding lectures, Hands-on sessions and pods. In between the scheduled events the mobile team was talking to customers and partners informing them about what is possible today and what direction SAP and Sybase are heading. Below is a snapshot of the crowd listing to the mobile presentation on the innovation weekend.
The biggest take a way for all participants was that there is no need to wait to something mobile. The products available today from SAP and Sybase allow building custom mobile solutions or already released specific mobile applications like “Sybase Mobile Sales for SAP CRM”. Bala Prabahar, a visitor of the Innovation weekend, summarizes in the interview below with SAP Mentor Marilyn Pratt, that after joining my mobile presentation he now understands how to develop on the mobile Co-Innovation Solution.
The interesting part for SAP partner and customer was that the Co-Innovation platform as it is available today is already available since almost a year. Since May this year are the first applications running on it like the “Sybase Mobile Sales for SAP CRM”. The main point is to understand though when looking at the Co-Innovation stack available today, that this stack was designed from two separate Companies. This is reflected in the complexity of the stack and the high TCO, which came to the stack as two separate companies were protecting their domains. With Sybase being an SAP company meanwhile this complexity is not needed any more. The SAP and Sybase mobile team are working on reducing the cost of ownership and the time and cost to develop mobile applications.
I think we are going to be busy the next weeks informing our customers and partners about what they can do today on the mobile products.
