I recently returned from the SAP TechEd 2010 event which was jam-packed with highly-motivated people soaking up information on the latest innovations on offer and in development. In his keynote address, SAP CTO Vishal Sikka described and demonstrated solutions right out of our labs in the strategic mobility, cloud computing, and in-memory areas. Throughout the event experts presented in lecture sessions, hands-on workshops, and interactive stations how these technologies are advancing our On-Premise, On-Demand, On-Device and Orchestration products and services.

Are you utilizing this valuable experiential resource - attendance at SAP events - to update your backgrounds and expand your understanding of new technologies in IT and business processes? The content of SAP events is often academically employable, not only commercially exploitable. Just for one example, the Innovation Lab, led by SAP VP Dr. Jeffrey Word and held in the middle of this year's TechEd show floor, provided "a behind the scences look at cutting-edge innovation projects that SAP is currently working on."

If you were unable to attend TechEd physically, we have invited you (University Alliances member professors) to access many presentations and downloadable content through our Virtual TechEd event at no cost. In addition to TechEd, SAP presents additional events for customers and partners such as SapphireNow and World Tour in major cities across the globe. Each time we hold one of these events, the content is updated to present some of the latest innovative ideas on offer and in development.

Moreover, SAP University Alliances develops and delivers its own events every year specifically for UA member professors with no attendance fees. These events provide concise updates on new SAP innovations parallel to workshops and presentations of new UA courses. We are just now ending the 2010 cycle of all of the University Alliances events. Please keep a look out for our notifications on all University Alliances Events in 2011, including the SAP UA User Group Meeting in EMEA in February, SAP Curriculum Congress in Americas in March, and SAP Academic Conference in AsiaPacific/Japan later in the year. Make sure to save-the-date on your calendar, and take advantage of the rich technology and innovation content delivered at these events.
