Before review all works for the competition, I have always been thinking shengtao.tan/blog who is the organizer of this championship was bluffing about it. But after I reviewed them, to be honest, those works really impress me.
From technical view, some of dashboards are very interesting, for example, one dashboard is able to display real-time stock price by connecting to public web service. Connectivity is always a highlight in real case. Another interesting one is, some guy recreate Chinese map component adding Chongqing as new element, which doesn’t exist in current standard component. I didn’t review the source file yet but if he really rewrite it, it would be great because he did a 2nd development of the product, even the product team should give him a medal and replace the existing one.
From business logic perspective, these submissions come from many different industries, bank, public sector, retail, utility, etc. they are talking about sales analysis, market analysis, safe control, customer relationship analysis, credit analysis, and of course the one always the hot topic: key performance of an enterprise. It gives us a message that analysis existing every industry and everywhere. And Crystal Dashboard Design is absolutely the right tool to show analysis with the fancy effect.
Another surprise is some of these submissions are not TRADITIONAL dashboard. You could find a life dashboard focus on your TC, TG and FPG(different results of blood test) and predict your health status, I guess this guy MUST be very serious on his health status and finally create a dashboard to analyze it. I need learn this from him.. You can also find a resume there, it introduces a graduate very clearly and interactively, I think it’s much better than traditional one paper resume. It would be great if I had this kind of resume when I graduated from school. The only thing I can say is, they are totally beyond my imagination and expectation.
Finally, it’s my favorite, an airline dashboard. It’s really fancy and I’m big fan of it.
