Want a SAP system to experiment on?

SAP has established an educational portal “Learning On Demand By SAP” to provide a range of ebooks, presentations, simulations and white papers about their various solutions.

The portal can be found at lod.sdn.sap.com.

You will be able to find some free resources and others at a minimal charge.  However under the vertical menu there is the option to access a SAP Sandbox OnDemand.  For $US80 you will get 30days access to SAP ECC 6.0 and an IDES data set.  There are a number of curriculum resources available at the University Alliances Collaborative Workspace that are based on the IDES data set.

This provides universities with the opprotunity to experiment with various curriculum alternatives to determine their suitability.  In addition, the SAP ECC access includes access to ABAP and Netweaver components.

This will certainly make my students happy as they can experiment with out risking our production systems.

Good luck

      Hi Paul,
It was good to have a ( all too brief) catchup and chat during the Certification 5 Experts Networking at SAP TechED.

Don't forget that there's also a lot of free to download (although some have licensing conditions) tools and system software available at http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/downloads
