The product managers at SAP are trying something new. They have created a public space for customers to submit their product enhancement ideas. You can even vote up ideas that other community members  have submitted. The Crystal Reports forum part of the Idea Place will cover report design issues as well as database connectivity, SDKs – .NET as well as Java and more. The coolest part of this initiative for me is  that the plan is to have a completed ideas area as these ideas get implemented. Once ideas are completed, it will be featured and stored. And the area will build up with more and more implanted ideas which will  give me satisfaction knowing that someone is listening… How cool is that?!

Up to now, the following Products and Solutions have their own Idea Place:

SAP CRM
Marketing
Sales
Service

SAP SRM and Procurement for Public Sector
Contract Management
SAP Document Builder
Sourcing

Services and Communities
SAP Community Network
SCN Career Center
Technology Innovation area on SDN

Of course the one I am most interested is Crystal Reports, but that is just me and my source of satisfaction. For a short vid describing Idea Place, see Innovation at SAP – Idea Place: Customer-Centric Innovation at SAP.

      Thank you for your interest!
There is a lot of excitement about this internally. And that warms my heart as I’ve been suggesting this type of feedback since I started working for Crystal 16 years ago… I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that this does not turn out to be a “Field of dreams”.
