    David,

Thanks for creating this blog area.  OSIsoft is very excited to participate in this event with SAP.  We have our TechEd 2010 Expert Session in the Community Clubhouse, Lounge#4 on Thursday 10/21, 1:30PM – 2:00PM.

Anyone attending TechEd who is interested in learning how to measure Sustainability across their manufacturing or process environments and/or building facilities should plan to attend this session.  They can learn how OSIsoft and SAP have co-innovated to deliver an Energy Management soltion using standard software packages (no programming) to provide visibility of energy consumption and production.  Solar panels on the roof-top of SAP’s Palo Alto Building #1 and energy feed from the City of Palo Alto provide the energy “produced” while equipment in the building are considered the consumers.  With this real-time data collected and archived, OSIsoft’s PI System software feeds SAP MII and SAP Carbon Impact with key data for reporting sustainability metrics for everyone to view on a centralized monitor in the building’s lobby.

This is just one example of how OSIsoft and SAP software can be used to support any corporate sustainability initiative where energy is an important metric.  An old saying that is still very applicable to today is: “You can change what you cannot see”.  OSIsoft and SAP are bring visibility to information that help create a sustainabile future.
