SAP PRESS – Advanced Analysis, Edition for Microsoft Office – former Project Pioneer

I am happy to report that my latest project – a new book with SAP Press on the new product SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office – is available on the webiste now.

I has been up on the website for several weeks already but now you have the option to see the complete table of content and read a sample chapter as well.

In the book I am providing you – similar to my previous books – first an overview on where Advanced Analysis fits into the overall BI landscape and which user requirements it fits. This is what you can read in the sample chapter.

In the following chapters I then give you a step by step introduction into the features and functions and how Advanced Analysis compares to SAP BusinessExplorer (BEx) Analyzer. In addition I give you a set of business scenarios, which seems to be something people very much like as I had received this feedback based on my second – Reporting and Analytics with SAP BusinessObjects – and third – Inside SAP BusinessObjects Explorer – books.

I also would like to take the opportunity to say “THANK YOU” to several people here:

  • Erik Herman, SAP Press
  • Eric Schemer, Alexander Peter, Daniel Haecker
  • Katie Newlon, Bridge Installation Timken Company (retired) & ASUG BI Community
  • Tammy Powlas, Fairfax Water & ASUG BI Community
  • Joyce Butler, Cameron International & ASUG BI Community
  • Rajeev Kapur, Newell Rubbermaid & ASUG BI Community
  • Yatkwai Kee, Newell Rubbermaid & ASUG BI Community

The book will be also available at TechED at the booth of SAP Press in Las Vegas and Berlin and I hope you enjoy reading it and looking forward to your feedback for possible upcoming projects.

It was an honor and privilege to be asked to read this great book and thank you for asking me.

It is a great book and anyone in the BI/BW/BEx space will want to purchase this book, along with the other BusinessObjects books you've written.

you would get that. You are a book authoring machine. And every single one you wrote has top quality, which amazes me. Way to go.
      Waiting to read this one.

Thanks Ingo for sharing this, looks like an interesting bit of solution. I have got couple of questions please -
      1. Shall it be bundled with SAP BO4 or shall also be available as stand alone?
      2. I believe SAP does not recommend using it with SAP BOE, how do you see SAP BW customers moving to it with minimal TCO?

      Please suggest

      Thanks

      Hi,

Analysis is available for the XI 3.1 platform already now as edition for Microsoft Office.

and we do recommend it to be used with BusinessObjects Enterprise.

      regards

We have your new book and are very excited to start trying out the product but do not seem to be able to get it.

Can you help with a link to the download?

we are current customers and are at the proper patch levels

Here is the link we are currently using https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001303&_EVENT=DISP_NEW&00200682500000002804=01200615320900004915
and the download center doesn't have anything.

      Hi,

as the product now is fully released you need the proper license to be able to download the software.
