In the last weeks the SAP Mentors have had some magic moments again. They never stop to amaze me with their enthusiasm, ingenuity and plain old fun. They are a joy to work with (most of the time 😉

The following screen shot demonstrates one such episode. It was taken from the recording of the SAP Inside Track Bangalore webcast around certification. My colleague Aslan Noghre-kar is becoming a virtuoso in setting these up throughout the world culminating in last week’s joined session between the Inside Track in Brussels and Sao Paulo.

SAP Mentor Inside Track Webinar

What you see is the web camera feed from Bangalore. In the lower right we have SAP Mentor Mrinal Wadhwa who together with fellow mentors Somnath Manna, Abesh Bhattacharjee and the help of Shweta Kesarwani, who opened the doors at SAP Labs, organized the SAP Inside Track.

It is Saturday 2pm in the afternoon. All of the may be 50 people in the room have taken time out from their precious weekend to geek out with their fellow SAP Community members.

That alone is already amazing, but if you go around the picture you realize, that the SAP Mentors who have joined from all over the world have fought the time zones and are fully engaged sometimes at 4:30 in the morning.

They could have joined for an hour, do their session and went on their marry way to enjoy the rest of their weekend. But they stayed and engaged for full three hours until the SAP Inside Track in Bangalore was over.  Not only that, but they agreed on doing a quick debrief to talk about what they have learned and what can be done better next time for another 15 minutes. That is just amazing dedication. It blows my mind.

They were not the only mentors from faraway places that joined that day.  Anne Katherine Petteroe joined Mrinal earlier in the day for the The State of Enterprise  UI session.

I am humbled by that level of engagement of our mentors. So much so, that I made this screenshot my desktop background.

Thank you so much SAP Mentors, you never stop to amaze me.

While I missed out on SAP Inside Track in Bangalore I was able to attend the frickin’ awesome event in Brussel hosted by Martin Gillet et al online due to all that commitment you speak of.

It was really amazing to see Aslan manage all those video broadcasts and audio conference lines remotely and w/o that I would not have been able to virtually attend.

In time sof cost saving measures being applied it really is vital to turn the local Inside Tracks into a gobal conference that everyone can join and – contribute.

The integration of Twitterwalls we saw @sitbru really is another great way to get the people involved (even if joining remotely) while at the same time also helps to “make some noise” about the event. Great stuff and awesome idea… surely setting a new standard.

    Hi SCNers,

In my rush to the beer last night, I not only lost my cell phone (It has been found and returned to me), but more importantly I forgot to thanks two of the main organizers to the event: The always energetic SAP Mentor Abesh Bhattacharjee as well as the person that worked in the background to get everything at SAP Labs in Bangalore organized and made sure that the participants where fed: Shweta Kesarwani.

Thanks for all the work you did, Mark.

P.S. I have updated the post too.
