As the title promises, the lecture will cover both JAVA and ABAP flavors of Web Dynpro. The lecture also digs deeper than being an introduction to Web Dynpro. It seeks to explore the practical application of Web Dynpro as a self service solution. You might ask yourself: Why is Web Dynpro a good fit for self services? Where does it fit within an overall self service strategy? How hard is it to create a custom Web Dynpro application? What are the steps involved? What does coding in Web Dynpro look like? Where does it fit into an overall SAP technical landscape? As a consultant, I have had the opportunity to design, architect and code, and launch multiple solutions in both JAVA and ABAP Web Dynpro frameworks. I hope to share some of this experience with you!
In order to get the most from this session, I encourage you to ask lots of questions. I have tried very hard to put together a presentation that I think will keep both newbies and experienced Web Dynpro developers and architects interested. However, anybody can simply download some slides and read them at home. The point of flying out to Las Vegas in person is to interact with your fellow SAP Techies! To help facilitate this communication, please feel free to start posting questions to this blog. If I can not answer your questions here or at the lecture, I will also be hosting a networking event Wednesday at 2:00 PM in Lounge 1 while at TechEd. Look forward to meeting you there!
