Pre-requisites

Before we proceed with the relevant configuration in Solution Manager, make sure that the basic requirement to send an email from system has been done.

The email addresses must be entered in the user settings. For this, call transaction SU01-enter the user name – Change mode.

Call transaction SCOT, where the necessary configuration for the SMTP node has to be maintained.

Double click on the node SMTP. Here, maintain the Mail host, Mail port and code page.

Now select the check box ‘Internet’ and click on ‘Set’. Here maintain the specific address area, if any exists.

Finally, set the default domain by calling Settings-Default Domain.

Now we are ready to go with the Solution Manager configuration.

Automatic E-mailing of EWA Reports

1. Call the SAP Solution Manager (transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER).

2. Open your solution.

3. Choose Edit – Automatic E-mail transmission.

4. A new dialog box will be displayed.

5. Choose Create E-mail. A second dialog box is displayed.

6. Select the Session name and Report type from the input Help, and specify an e-mail address.

7. Confirm.

 

Email for specific systems/instances.

 

In order to filter the EWA mails, the details need to be maintained in the table DSWP_SYS_EMAIL.

Call transaction SM30. Enter the table name as DSWP_SYS_EMAIL and click on ‘Maintain’.

A pop-up message will be displayed saying

This message conveys that all the entries will be recorded in the change request; not only the newly creating one. Click on ‘Continue’

Click on ‘New Entries’ and select the ‘Object ID and SAP System from the input help.

Save the changes. This will be recorded in a change request.

As a final step, the BadI Implementation DSWP_EMAILFILTER needs to be activated. For performing the same, call the IMG activity mentioned in the below path:

SPROàSAP Solution ManageràScenario Specific SettingsàSystem MonitoringàSending Service Reports by Internet E-mailàE-mail filter (maintenance) àBadI EWA E-mail filter.

 

Activate the BadI Implementation by selecting the check box ‘Active (IMG).

Now the EWA reports will only be triggered to the email ids associated with the systems mentioned in the table DSWP_SYS_EMAIL.

 

Email an existing EWA Report.

 

Call transaction solution_manager and select your EWA report.

Select the icon E-Mail.

Please enter the email id of the recipient and click on OK. The EWA report will be send as an attachment to the recipient.

    Thanks for the blog.  It is very useful.

    I have configured as per the blog.  At the time of sending the existing report through Email, I am getting the following error.

    “Exception CX_SEND_REQ_BCS occurred (program: CL_SEND_REQUEST_BCS===========CP, include: CL_SEND_REQUEST_BCS===========CM00M, line: 171). : “

    Kindly help me to resolve the problem.
