Now most of the members of the SAP community will know me as a person writing about how SAP BusinessObjects BI tools can be integrated with the SAP landscape, but beyond being an employee of SAP I am very fortunate of being a "Point of contact" for the BI Interest Group of ASUG.

This means that I am working together with all the volunteers in the BI area and also the people fro the ASUG headquarter, trying to make sure people are getting a lot of value for their membership fee.  Now people might ask themselves what the value is that I am referring to and I thought I provide some very simple examples.

The following is a list of webinars that we created together with the BI group of ASUG. The link is provided here but you will need a ASUG login to be able to take a look at the material.

The next upcoming webinars:

Now as customer - SAP or BusinessObjects - you might now say that you can also find all those materials somewhere else, but here is another - in my view the most important - benefit of being an ASUG member and that is the "power of many" and the ability to raise your voice and concerns and influence the product direction of SAP. ASUG and SAP are conducting a large number of Influence Councils per product area and customer. Here a small paragraph I grabbed from asug.com:

Leveraging the collective voice of more than 1,800 SAP customer companies and the strong strategic partnership between ASUG and SAP, ASUG Influence is able to provide members interested in shaping current and future SAP solutions the unique opportunity to provide input directly to SAP. Through ASUG Influence, members are empowered to connect with other companies looking to solve the same product challenges, share their real experiences to help direct product requirements and future development, establish working relationships with SAP product managers, and reduce their total cost of ownership. There is strength in numbers. You can make a difference.

Now often the "classic" BusinessObjects customers might think that this is all just for customer using SAP as an application as well but I can ensure that this is not the case and looking at the list of webinars from the Business Intelligence area, you will recognize that there is a lot of content for the classic BusinessObjects customer as well.ASUG is offering all qualified BusinessObjects users who do not use other SAP solutions a compliment....

And if all of that still has not convinced you to join ASUG as a member, perhaps the best is to come to the ASUG Fall Focus conference and the SAP BusinessObjects conference and see the ASUG community live in action.

I hope the above short description got you interested in becoming a ASUG member and perhaps we see each other soon on an ASUG event, or ASUG webinar, or an Influence Council session.
