The clearing rule can be used to populate a value in one field from cleared item to clearing item when you clearing a open item in clearing transaction code.

For example, you want to transfer value saved in BSEG-XREF1 of open item to clearing item in tcode:F-53, then the following customizing should be defined in tcode OBIA and OBIB:

In tcode OBIA:

[a]  Create Clearing rule.
[b]  Select this clearing rule, click "clearing rule fields" in the "Dialog Structure" area.
[c]   Press "New Entry" button,  enter a number in "item number" field( example:1), and assign XREF1 in "field name" column.
[d]  Save.

In tcode OBIB,  Assign account type: "K" or "D" or "S" to this clearing rule, then save it( in this case I want to clear vendor invoice, so I assign "XJ" to account type:K) as below:

Detials for the cleared document and clearing document, please refer to following screen:

  • Vendor invoice(there is "TEST" in BSEG-XREF1)posted in tcode:FB01:

  • Clearing document posted in tcode:F-53  as below(there is "TEST" in BSEG-XREF1 which is transferred from vendor invoice line item):

Addition, sometimes the issue "although the clearing rule was defined correctly, but it doesn't work, no value populated into clearing line items" happened.  then the solution is to change the customizing in tcode:OBIA and OBIA, and change it back for re-trigger system to regenerate the source codes in report:RFAGR000. details please refer to note:898246.

For the reason why the source codes in report:RFAGR000 is not generated correctly happen, we think that maybe due to any error occurs during the generation run or if the generation run is not executed/(is not executed completely).
