Hello SCN Community,

Idea Place launched earlier this year for SCN members BUT did not include support for SAP Service Marketplace (SMP) users. Even though, SMP user support was planned for Q4, many SMP users were very eager to start participating on Idea Place now.

Well, I am happy to say we have developed a great solution.

As of today, all SMP users can logon to Idea Place via their SMP passport. If you are an SMP user and do not already have a passport, it is an easy straightforward process to receive one. Simply login to service.sap.com and click on “Benefit from Single Sign On” in the top-right corner.

After a few short steps, you will have a SAP passport (browser side certificate). Then, by browsing to Idea Place (ideas.sap.com) you will be automatically signed in (no username and password required) – i.e.  Single Sign On (SSO). This is the same SSO for SCN or SMP that exists today.

The site already has existing areas for feedback and we will be adding more. I encourage you to come check it out and share your ideas. For those who are new, here is the current list:

If you do not find the topic you are looking for, please request it here.

Any feedback or ideas for the site, let us know.

Cheers

Kuhan

    Hi Kuhan,

thank you for this great news. No more figuring out what username + password I’ve used. Hope that Idea Place now really can take off.

    Best regards
    Gregor

Thanks very much for listening to us on this issue Kuhan!

Now could I ask that perhaps the period for entering ideas about potential SCN suggestions be extended – another 2 weeks seems a very short period! Especially as we’ve only just got access. You can see, I’ve been on the site and adding a few ideas and voting on a few more!

I would take time to add more – but if people are only going to be able to vote on them for the next 14 days, I’m not sure I’ll expend the effort.

Thanks again for listening to the community and getting SSO for SMP users working!

    Cheers,

    Chris

      Hi Chris,
Actually, yes, we can extend it… we are going to make it optional to have a timed idea session so the business team can decide what bests suites their needs. If we put big numbers though it looks confusing so we kept them small to start.
Looking to have this fixed soon.

      Stay tuned.

      Cheers

      Kuhan
