Over the last couple of months, I have received so many requests asking for the sample questions for preparing E2E100 certification. But is this really necessary to have some model questions before we attempt any certification? I don’t think that it is. SAP certifications are not intended to measure your memory power, although at some time, you need to memorize the things. Based on the experience, I believe understanding what the books are trying to convey is more important than looking for the probable questions.

Here I am trying to highlight some important sections that you need to concentrate while preparing for E2E 100 certification. Please keep in mind that you need to read the course book at least 3 times to get a fair understanding of the subject. The topics which I cover does not conclude the only sections which you need to cover, but you need to give a little more stress on it.

Please be reminded to go through all the fact sheets based on their level. Make sure you understand the concepts mentioned in the fact sheets. Also concentrate on the points mentioned in those pages as there is a high chance that you get questions based on these points.

 Chapter 1: Introduction

Important sections to concentrate:

SAP Standard for solution operations:

  • Concentrate on Root Cause Analysis and Incident Management
  • Understand the definition and difference between incident, problem and request for change. Concentrate more on the process description of Incident Management.
  • A high level understanding of SAP MaxAttention is recommended.
  • The Solution Operation Standards related to diagnostics ( I Eat Really Slow)
  1. Incident Management
  2. E2E Root Cause Analysis
  3. Remote Support
  4. Solution Monitoring.

 Chapter 2: E2E Change Diagnostics

Important sections to concentrate:

  • Understand the difference and usage of Change Analysis tool and Change Reporting tool.
  • Concentrate more on the screens of Change Reporting (Data Viewer and Comparison tool) and get familiarized with options and icons available.
  • Understand the E2E Change Analysis architecture.
  • Explore the different possibilities of graphical representation of Change Analysis and especially on the feature ‘History of Changes of the last 2 years’.
  • The possibility of managing the heterogeneous development environments using change analysis.

 Chapter 3: E2E Workload Analysis

Important sections to concentrate:

  • Please note what are all the things that you can deduce by looking at the workload analysis graphs; comparison between different graphs will give you deeper view.
  • An overview of Wily Introscope; components, installation path, purpose etc. I would recommend a side reading of the Introscope guide available at service.sap.com/diagnostics.
  • Make sure that you will be able to read the bottlenecks by analysing the Introscope graphs.
  • Recommended Log Configuration Setting for productive Systems.
  • There will be at least one question regarding the Java GC analysis. Please concentrate more on the terms defined related with GC and the analysis part of it. You may even get a screen shot of some GC issue.
  • Take a note on the available Java memory analysis tools.
  • Understand the use of thread dumps and how it is used. Also make a note about the important information that you can absorb from a thread dump.

 Chapter 4: E2E Trace Analysis.

Important sections to concentrate:

  • Make sure that you know/understands how to execute the E2E Trace Analysis tool and read the result.
  • The main intention of this chapter is that you understand :
  1. How to use and read the results of E2E Trace Analysis tool? (Expect a screen shot).
  2. Find out the problem causing part of a session using BMC AppSight.
  3. How to read the Transaction Trace Viewer?
  4. Usage of the transaction ST12 (Expect a screen shot)
  5. The information that can be obtained from SQL Trace.
  • Compare the advantages and limitations of Wily Introscope and BMC AppSight.

 Chapter 5: E2E Exception Analysis

Important sections to concentrate:

  • Please note down the navigation path (tools or transactions) of each type of exceptions displayed in the Exception analysis in detail.
  • Concentrate more on the features of Log Viewer and Log Configurator.
  • Some important points to concentrate:
  1. The severities of Log Configurator and the default one.
  2. The usage of the profile parameter rslg/max_diskspace/local
  3. The use of the ‘Lock’ button available in transaction ST22.
  4. The use of call stack.
  • A comparison between the various available transactions for trace analysis, workload analysis and exception analysis is recommended.

Chapter 6: Application and Data Inconsistency Analysis.

Important sections to concentrate:

  • Understand how inconsistency assessment can be carried out.
  • Compare a DB LUW and SAP LUW.

Chapter 7: Early Watch Alert

Important sections to concentrate:

  • Please note the KPIs and data which we can get from a EWA report.
  • This chapter mainly points to the analysis that was already explained in the previous chapters. Once you are clear with them, you will find it easy here.
  • I would recommend going through a EWA report to get more understanding of the contents that can be obtained through it.

Hope this gives some sort of help to them who prepare for this exam. Best of luck.
