As a new Support Consultant at SAP, I've been supporting Postalsoft DeskTop Mailer and Business Edition for a few months now, working with a variety of different software cases. During this time, I was quickly able to understand many of its features, tools, and benefits. This is especially for Postalsoft Business Edition where I've become familiar with why it's such a valuable tool for businesses and their commercial mailing needs.
As a business, whether you're a small business entrepreneur or a medium sized operator, you have to find ways to minimize costs and expand your business with the limited marketing budget at your disposal in today's competitive global economy. With SAP's Postalsoft Business Edition, you are given many tools to perform efficient functions in mass mailing and direct marketing for your clients in simple processes.
For example, you may already have a full client list from your existing applications, such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or trouble ticketing software. Postalsoft Business Edition enables Importing databases into the program, allowing businesses to utilize their existing client databases they may already have from existing systems. It's very flexible between the many other applications in use today in the industry.
The software offers full address correction functionality that is certified by the United States Postal Service (under its Coding Accuracy Support System Program), allowing businesses to reach their clients very efficiently. For example, if a valuable client recently moved and changed their address, the software can obtain the new address of a client through its Address Change Service (ACS) or extended services offered by NCOAlink. It also gives you access to suppression lists to avoid mailing to prisoners, the deceased, and other "do not mail" lists. What this offers, is access to updated data to be merged into your databases as often as you need it.
Furthermore, the program is also great at detecting duplicate records, preventing unnecessarily mailings to go out and efficiently updating your mailing database going forward.
The presort or sorting feature within Business Edition allows you to save significantly in postage costs through letters, flats, parcels, and even postcards. This is ideal for large mailing jobs designed for drop off at multiple USPS facilities, or even pallets of bulk mail to be delivered to many locations. Mailing pallets allows organizations to deliver to a large number of clients at affordable costs through qualified mailing schemes accepted at USPS facilities. The program allows convenient access to multiple USPS post office facilities nationwide, businesses that receive the best discounts are those that utilize walk sequenced database mailing lists.
The software program also offers postage statements and reports built-in, ready to be printed and submitted to the Post Office along with your mail, such as the 3553 CASS form.
In addition, another useful function built-in within the program is the label toolbox feature allowing you to print mailing and container labels, by selecting from a list of design files that corresponds with many of the commonly used templates in the printing and mailing industry. SAP and its product liaisons and software developers also work closely with the United States Postal Service regularly, to continually innovate its software and better deliver services in the future. In fact they already offer the new Intelligent Mail Barcodes (IMB) that feature container tags and address labels approved by the USPS.
