Label Studio user might want to use test labels, these are labels that are used for testing purposes only, to test your printing and to check if Label Studio and your printer are communicating correctly, test labels are not used for production.

A Label Studio user might also want use banner pages to separate group of labels for example to separate jobs, units or subunits.

To create a banner page or test page uses the banner or layer from within Label Toolbox.

How to insert Banner or test pages between pages?

Label Studio gives the user the ability to divide the ouput file to multiple files, there are many advantages to this because you can break the output based on the number of records or values in your input files, you can also set label studio to print banner pages or test pages between your unit breaks.

To create units break you will need to set the unit break definition in your definition file, for example if you want your unit brakes based on segment number, you might want to add the following line to your .def file.

PW.Unt_Crk1= DB.Seg_No

Then you will need to set the unit break description, this is done by going to your ‘Input block’ in Label Studio then clicking Definition and Description, then selecting a break definition and description from within the 'Unit Break Definition' dialog, but note that each unit must use the same value in the unit break definition (for example, first last or change)

Then after that you need to make sure that you select from within the ‘Label Options’ block where do you want your banner pages/test labels to be for example a the begining of the job or between unit breaks etc...
