About 6 weeks after the event, and follow-up activities running full speed as the result of it, I would like to share some impressions of the 2010 HIMSS APAC with you.
The event this year was hosted by Beijing, China. Here you can have a look at the overall set-up of the conference, the list of Healthcare IT vendors exhibiting, and the schedule of industry sessions and key notes during the 2 days event. The list of featured speakers include the Chief Executive Steven Boyages of SAP customer Sydney West Area Health Service.

SAP was represented by an impressive booth, sharing with partner IBM and Panasonic. The Chinese healthcare and marketing team led by Phenix Qin, Industry Principle Healthcare for China made an outstanding achievement. Lots of traffic at the demo booth, interesting discussions starting with the Chinese version of the SAP for Healthcare value map and a visit of the Chinese Health Minister underline the success of the event. Although the focus was clearly on the Chinese market and thus the majority of discussions happened in Chinese, several customers and interested attendees from the whole APJ region, plus even attendees from the US, extended the interesting Healthcare discussions on regional topics, health reform in China and experience exchange across countries with totally different health systems and IT requirements.
It was a real opportunity for me to be able to support the Chinese team and the Director for Healthcare APJ, Andy David, in this exciting event. Huge opportunities open up in the Chinese market, totally new healthcare IT vendors from China are now on the radar, and the Chinese Health Government is driving massive innovative projects for hospitals across China.
Summarizing, it was an amazing event in Beijing, and we will surely hear many more exciting announcements and innovations from China in the coming weeks and months.
