USPS BMC to NDC changes are required by May 26, 2010
BMCs renamed to NDCs
Effective March 14, 2010 and mandatory May 26, 2010, the USPS requires that all postal documentation includes the renaming of Bulk Mailing Centers (BMCs) to Network Distribution Centers (NDCs). The USPS has updated the DMM®, other related manuals, applicable publications, and postage statements.
According to the USPS, “The new network will consolidate the processing of originating mail into fewer sites to achieve greater operational efficiency and reduce transportation costs while expanding the surface transportation reach for more products.”

All occurrences of “BMC” within the software and its reports now appear as “NDC.”
Make sure you are using the most current version of your Postalsoft software in order to comply:
- If you use Postalsoft Professional Presort, install 8.00c.05.00 (Service Pack 5).
- If you use Postalsoft DeskTop Mailer or Business Edition, install 8.00c.03.00 (Service Pack 3).
