SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.2 Generally Available Now

I am delighted to announce that today at the SAPPHIRE® NOW customer conference, we announced the general availability of SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.2 one month earlier than planned. SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment is in unrestricted shipment from the 17th of May, 2010 on.

The new release of SAP NetWeaver CE follows the successful beta and ramp-up programs with more than 30 customers – including Gebäudeversicherung Bern, Osaka Gas, Stedin B.V. and Unilever Asia – and more than 60 partners. During the past months, the customers and partners implemented and tested various scenarios in three major areas – Process Composition with SAP NetWeaver Business Process Managament, Business Rules Management, and Java Development and SOA. At the end of the ramp-up program, we already have a number of live customers and successfully completed proof of concepts, which gives us the confidence to announce the early completion of the ramp-up program.

The new release of SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment allows you to better manage business processes and rules across your organization by providing an integrated environment that enables you to quickly compose, execute, monitor and evolve business processes leveraging both SAP and non-SAP solutions significantly faster than traditional custom software development. SAP NetWeaver CE 7.2 features enhancements in most areas and components – in this release, you will find:

  • Enhanced SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management and Business Rules Management capabilities to enable you to design and develop your “own practices” as business rule-based, SOA-enabled, composite business processes and applications,
  • Service Adaptation and Composition features,
  • An enhanced Composite Designer that serves as a central entry point to composite applications,
  • Enhanced Web Dynpro and Visual Composer features,
  • Productivity and server-side improvements.

We would also like to take this opportunity and thank our ramp-up customers and partners for their participation in the ramp-up program and the valuable feedback that we have received and continue to receive.
