Today I attended a technical session on Universes/Common Semantic Layer. Much of the session seemed geared towards the work that Basis-type people would do; the presenter even showed SQL code.
The next session I attended was given by Jay Roble and Trevor Dennison, General Mills, and their experiences with BusinessObjects Data Services. They said their experience with this tool was they missed the CTS+ tool! It was a great session, full of lessons learned. The room was packed.
In the afternoon, I attended Coca Cola's Workflow session. In this session, Dominicus Van Asten presented excellent suggestions for moving your Workflows into production. I loved how he said that incorrect master data is the number one source of problems with workflow in production. How true.
The last session of the day was a presentation on Union Pacific's experience with the Universal Worklist. In this session, Justin Snyder presented detailed slides of how they implemented the universal worklist and went from 6 clicks for travel approval down to one! He provided detailed screen shots of how they renamed buttons, how the workflow task links to the UWL, and spent a great deal of time after the session answering everyone's questions.
Additionally, I have spoken with other SAP customers about their conference experience, click here to see!
