In previous years, as I've prepared to travel to the ASUG, Sapphire or TechEd conferences, I've posted packing lists or other "Accidental Tourist" advice.  This year is no exception.

Who I plan to meet

First, the Welcome the New SAP Mentors Spring 2010.  I'm lucky to know several already, including Tammy Powlas, Sandy Kemsley and, I think, all of the SAP employees (ann.rosenberg/blog, greg.chase/blog, joerg.nalik/blog, and john.astill/blog).

Of those I haven't met yet, I believe these 3 will be in Orlando:

  1. Kevin Benedict
  2. Mico Yuk
  3. John Appleby

If there are others who will be there, I hope to catch up with them too.  I've made plans to see Kevin Sunday night, as we have mutual interests in Mobile topics, and the Sybase announcement has made this field more of a buzz than anticipated.

Friends I hope to see

Having been an SAP Mentor for a couple years, and an ASUG volunteer for a decade, I've built a healthy network of friend and acquaintances, many of whom will be in Orlando.  I think Mark Finnern last estimated 34 SAP Mentors will be there - let's see how many I can say I've met:  YojibeeBlagButch McNallyDan McWeeneyDave Rathbun, Ed Herrmann, Gretchen Lindquist, Ingo Hilgefort, Jon Reed, Karin Tillotson, Leo De Araujo, Mark Finnern, Martin Gillet, Matthias Zeller, Paul Taylor, Rich Heilman, Rob Jackson, Simon To, Srini Tanikella, Sue Keohan, Tom Jung, Vijay  Vijayasankar.

Special Appearances

Listed above are Abesh, Blag, and Gretchen, 3 of my Mentor pals who were orginally unable to attend, but fortunately are now on their way.  I've seen Blag twice, and Abesh once (Gretchen a few more than that) and will be glad to meet and greet all three.

I should be able to catch up with the newer SCN staffers, laure.cetin/blog and Martin.

Speakers in my sessions

I'm facilitating 4 Mobile Technologies ASUG SIG track sessions.  There would be more, if we had had more abstracts to choose from.  Maybe next year, after all of the Mobile hype has turned into actual practice.

  • Tony Vernon, Fairfax County Water Authority
  • Stephane Perdigeon, SAP
  • Jae Shin,                           Samsung SDS
  • Jeff Duly,                           Dow Corning Corporation
  • Bruce Johnson,                           Sky Technologies
  • Neil McHugh, Sky Technologies
  • Dan Snider, Securit

Yes, that's SEVEN speakers in FOUR sessions.  What a bargain!

Water Bottles

I'll have giveaways for the responders to this SCN Sustainability thread:

The Pack Job

Did I manage eveything?

But Wait There's More:
