I am a true fan of SDN Forums and WIKI spaces and believe it is on the road towards its full potential but I find from feedback from colleagues that have the expertise to provide the content they had a great deal of trouble understanding the structure and even finding where they could add their valuable content.

As the first point of call for my team in relation to all issues related to SDN, Forums or WIKI I too found it difficult to even show them where they should update as the structure in the ERP FIN Controlling area was not updated by Controlling experts. Even though other ERP FIN contributors had done great work in getting the space useable it still needed to be ‘taken by the horns’ and kicked into shape.

Thus I began this campaign to revamp and make WIKI spaces WORK. Where users and experts in the area could at a quick glance find their area and know exactly where to find or update the information.

I believe alot of the aprehension around contributing was due to ‘not knowing where to begin’. Thus I ‘began’…I have spent time planning and structuring the ERP Financials Controlling Wiki Space (Label: erp_fi_co) so that it is bright, clear, easy to navigate and relevant. Users will instantly know where ‘their’ section is and hopefully this ‘new look’ will promote experts and users of this area taking pride in their own area.

I plan to keep the mainpage of the WIKI space ‘ALIVE’ by having a visible section for areas where content is needed the most. In this way experts, contributors and users can focus piece by piece on the content required rather than simply sticking up content for the sake of it.

I hope to then promote ‘Pride in your WIKI’ campaign where contributors will take their own WIKI spaces and

…take them ‘by the horns’

…bring them ‘ALIVE’

…and make SDN WIKI a ‘Hive of Activity’

SCN Users should head on over and bookmark the ERP Wiki.  It’s one of the stronger sections within the Wiki and I can’t imagine that the average SCN users won’t benefit greatly from the content there.

I agree the Financial Wiki’s are a good starting point.

Users need to look here for high level product information.

    The new pages look good.
