ASAP 7.0 delivered in SAP Solution Manager

This is a very short post to announce availabiltity of the The new ASAP Methodology For Implementation released in SAP Solution Manager. You will automatically receive the updated roadmap with installation of the ST-ICO SP24 or later content update for SAP Solution Manager.

With this release we are making the great content updates of ASAP available to the project teams using SAP Solution Manager as their preferred application lifecycle management toolset.

You can access the roadmap from the SAP Solution Manager transaction RMMAIN. When you display it the initial screen looks like the one below.

End user experience with the roadmap in SAP Solution Manager is very comparable to the use of the roadmap in SAP Service Marketplace. That is if all you want to do is browse the content. The navigation looks very much the same - tree structure on the left side, topic descriptions on the top righ side and access to accelerators at the bottom of the screen.

But if you are using the roadmap as part of your implementation project you will have access to additional features. You will be able to associate the roadmap with your project which will enable project team members to jump to view the relevant documentation in the roadmap. The roadmap also provides direct links to Solution Manager transactions for Blueprinting (SOLAR01) and Configuration (SOLAR02) from deliverables that are completed in these transactions. You will also be able to take advantage of the Solution Manager Guide (WBS 1.1.5.1) that instructs the project team on how to best utilize the features of SAP Solution Manager for project success. There are additional guides in the Blueprint phase (WBS 2.5.1.1) that discuss how to utilize Solution Manager for efficient blueprinting. These are just few of the many enhancements that the roadmap provides for users of SAP Solution Manager.

Along with the release of ASAP Methodology for Implementation 7.0 in SAP Solution Manager SAP has released updated version of the standard Solution Manager training (SM310) that has been updated to the new ASAP release.
