Initial data quality integration between SAP NetWeaver MDM and Business Objects Data Services is based on the MDM Enrichment Architecture where the Business Objects’ Enrichment Adapter allows data cleansing and enrichment of business partner master data using Business Objects’ inherent postal address directories. The cleansed data is transferred to the MDM Enrichment Controller for availability in SAP NetWeaver MDM (based on MDM workflow). In addition, ETL connectivity between SAP BusinessObjects Data Services and SAP NetWeaver MDM with data pre-cleansing done by SAP BusinessObjects Data Services has also been explained in an SDN How-to Guide.
Both integration scenarios are explained in my blog on the SAP Business Objects and SAP NetWeaver MDM – Bringing Together The Best of Two Worlds.
But what has been somehow missing so far, is a cohesive and comprehensive in-depth picture of current integration scenarios providing best practices for implementation including additional integration mechanisms (e.g. DB views). Therefore, I’d like to draw your attention to a new series of MDM How-to Guides dealing in depth with SAP NetWeaver MDM and Business Objects Data Services integration topics. The first publications in this series are:
- SAP NetWeaver MDM and SAP BusinessObjects Data Services Integration Scenarios – Part I Advanced Consolidation
This guide informs about how to connect SAP NetWeaver MDM with SAP Business Objects to perform address cleansing and matching for data, and finally to import this data into MDM.
- SAP NetWeaver MDM and SAP BusinessObjects Data Services Integration Scenarios – Part II Consolidation On Data Entry
This guide informs about the SAP NetWeaver MDM and SAP BusinessObjects Data Services interaction in on-entry and periodic cleansing scenarios.
Part III of this series is planned to cover the SAP NetWeaver MDM and SAP BusinessObjects Data Services interaction when it comes to central master data creation.
For additional information about integrating SAP NetWeaver MDM with SAP Objects Data Services, see the Integrating SAP NetWeaver MDM with SAP BusinessObjects Data Services Wiki site on SDN.
I hope that this information is beneficial for you!
