Are your SAP TechED Trees still alive ?

Most of you know me as the person writing about the integration of SAP and SAP BusinessObjects in regards to the Business Intelligence area, but today I wanted to write about a great idea (my own opinion) and remind people of it.

Did you visit SAP TechEd 2009 in Phoenix and did you have the pleasure to be part of the SAP BusinessObjects Insight night, or Hacker Night, or BPX Slam  ? If so, then you received a Tree-mendous SAP TechEd 2009 from

Tree-Nation is the biggest free Internet social network with the objective of planting trees in order to fight poverty, desertification, deforestation and climate change

Since SAP TechED in 2009 all I did is to “water” my tree, which basically means you logon to your account on Tree Nation and click the button “Water my tree” one drop per day.

Now the great part is, that for every 100 drops you will receive an additional virtual tree and Tree Nation will plant one real tree in your name.

Right now I managed to have three trees planted in Nigeria, and that all with just simply clicking on the website.

So why do I share this here ? I think that SDN is a great community and I think that Tree Nation is another great community. So with the power of both communities combined we could grow lots of trees by simply water these trees every day with a simple click.

My call to action : For those who received a virtual tree, share the URL in the comments of this blog and I will add you to my list of trees to be watered every day. In case you did not receive a virtual tree, check out Tree Nation and perhaps you can follow this link and water my tree
