Last week I was in NW/BI Admin Summit Orlando, Florida. During my session “When Why and How to upgrade EHP4”, I incurred many questions regarding how to reset EHP4 upgrade after completing various phases.
In general reset of EHP4 upgrade is needed in following scenario:
· You want to repeat one of the preparation roadmaps steps to change an entry
· You ran the preparation roadmap steps for information processes only and do not want to install EHP4
· You cannot complete the installation in time and therefore need to reset the system to enable production operation again
EHP4 upgrade tool SAPehpi perform upgrade in 8 phases. Initial (1 -4) phase are interactive and required user intervention. If you missed any parameter and you wanted to go to previous steps/reset upgrade:
You can do this by simply selecting back button in GUI screen of SAPehpi tool
During pre-processing phase tables for shadow instance has been created in database schema. To reset the upgrade from this point select “Reset installation”

SAPehpi will run the steps to revert the upgrade and shadow tables will be deleted from database schema.
