The Accelerating Pace of Change

After braving the rising flood waters of the Passiac river, I crossed over to Parsippany New Jersey this morning for the SAP Solutions Tour Parsippany

First stop was to hear Raimer Hoeliner, Program Delivery Manager, North America Program Management Office talking about melding agile methodologies with ASAP and an iterative solution design process.  This was met with interest and many questions were raised about integration with complex landscapes.

Next stop was the keynote:

The Accelerating Pace of Change
Doug Merritt, Executive Vice President, Line of Business Solutions Sales, SA

Doug Merritt opened with a look at the volatile “new reality” which “drives an evolved perspective on how companies need to reduce costs and drive operating efficiencies”.  This included a look at rising new technologies such as cloud-computing/ondemand, in-memory, and mobile.  In his keynote address (video segment), Merritt discussed a vision of how companies’ IT landscapes can evolve without disruption to the business.

Colleague Scott Jones attracted a bit of attention with his augmented reality demonstration teaser conversing with customers and partners about Ecohub

And of course at the behest of another colleague Mark Finnern, sported my Mentor Rugby for a photo op with Doug Merritt.

  • Thanks for the re-cap Marilyn – looks like a great line-up of topics & speakers, which make me wish I could have been there. My intrigue has been building ever since hearing about the SAP Solutions Tour this year, so it’s good to get some insight (especially from the footage of Doug Merritt’s Keynote)!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you, Marilyn, for capturing a bit of the event for those of us who couldn’t be there.  Nice to read your recap, to see Doug Merritt on brief video, and to see photos of Scott Jones and others.

I will do the keynote at the Philadelphia Solutions Tour tomorrow.  I won’t be nearly as insightful or as eloquent as Doug Merritt, but anyone willing to put up with me in order to get to the good stuff is welcome to join the 340+ of us.  Here’s a link with details on where / when:
