As you probably have heard upgrades to PI 7.1 might be a little bit tricky
if you’re not ready for them. One of the things that can go wrong is the inconsistent
data in the database. Fortunately SAP has prepared a tool that can help
not only in checking if the DB state is correct but also in reparing if anything is not ok.
Once you open link:
you will see consistency check reports like shown below:
Here you can select many checks but the most important onces are the onces with missing data
in the Additionoal checks section. Once you execute them you ideally you should receive
the same output as in my case:
if not you can also try reparing those inconsistencies by using “try to repair errors” option
which should deal with any error. If this does not work – then OSS message is the only way 🙂
Once more nice option in this report is the check for opened checlists for all developers
(much faster in environments where there are dozenz of developers then checking it in ID or ERS/IR )
You can find more details about this report in OSS note – SAP Note 1154961: Checks to be executed before ESR/PI Upgrade to 7.1.
The point of this blog is not to show all the options of this report as they are more or less
readable but to show different options you can perform in order to be ready for PI 7.1 upgrade
together with my previous – PI 7.1 upgrade blogs:
