The standard maintenance terms for the SAP NetWeaver MDM 5.5 release will expire on March 31, 2010, with extended maintenance terms coming into play thereafter.

Customers who are still on this release may consider to upgrade to the current release SAP NetWeaver MDM 7.1 and leverage the new and enhanced features, such as improved data modeling or optimized inbound and outbound processing (data load/syndication) – to name just a few.

This is even more so with the imminent Support Package 4 for MDM 7.1 that is planned to be shipped in February. The planned key enhancements coming with Support Package 4 are:

  • Web-based Data Governance UI components, realized in Web Dynpro Java, for use in data governance processes in conjunction with SAP NetWeaver BPM
  • New specific MDM Web Services to generally increase system openness and allow process automation in data governance processes in conjunction with SAP NetWeaver BPM
  • Updated MDM Business Content to streamline MDM implementations in SAP environments

For a complete overview of SAP NetWeaver MDM 7.1, please check the MDM product site on SDN. Beginning of February, this site will be updated with the detailed information about Support Package 4.

Take the chance and get on board: By switching from MDM 5.5 to the brand new SAP NetWeaver MDM 7.1 Support Package 4 you can save extra maintenance cost, and get new and enhanced software features.

Stay tuned – more information on SAP NetWeaver MDM 7.1 Support Package 4 to come soon.

Best regards,
