Most of you having dealt with setting up and configuring a SAP CRM solution - will know that the Business Role in SAP CRM configuration provides a very flexible environment to design what your end users will have available as functions and features when working with the CRM solution. Assigning the correct navigation bar, layout, functional as well as technical and direct links: these are steps to really fine-tune a business role.
An incremental step of creating roles and providing your users with the exact right amount of functionality and information is the usage of PFCG roles, which are also assigned to a CRM Business Role. In the CRM role concept there is a distinct dependency between Business Roles and PFCG roles. Each business role has a corresponding PFCG role containing only those authorization objects needed to fulfill the tasks defined in the Business Role.
