“Improve My Experience” is the title of a new blog series that is now being offered on SCN. But what does this mean for you? I can think of one very important factor: Over the last nine months SAP has conducted more than 80 interviews with SAP customers and partners regarding the usage of SAP’s knowledge offering. “Finding and re-finding information” and “all-in-one knowledge provisioning” were among the areas in need of improvement that were identified as a result of these interviews – and this is exactly where docupedia (http://docupedia.sap.com) comes into play. Docupedia is SAP’s interactive format for technology product documentation.  

We learned from your interviews, that typical sources that are being searched for technical information are offerings like SAP Help Portal, SAP Community Network, as well as forums and SAP Notes. Docupedia combines all these sources through cross-linking which turns it into a single point of entry for product documentation. SAP Help Portal represents SAP´s rollout channel for product shipments and includes basically all information on “what the product does”. On the other hand, SCN outlines in greater detail “what you can do with the product”. Docupedia, however, offers release-specific product information, which has also been enhanced by additional knowledge, not only from SAP, but also from you, the community. You can upload your own documents and guides to docupedia, you can create your own links and comments, rate content, ask questions, and so on. One of the benefits for you is not only a structured access to your specific subject but also a growing knowledge experience through collaborating with the community.   

The very positive feedback that we received on docupedia at this year’s TechEd conferences clearly shows that we are pursuing the right goal with this offering. Studies on docupedia usage show that it helps you discover relevant product documentation and additional content up to 50% percent quicker than using other channels. This means that “Improve My Experience” applies not only to our expert knowledge offering but also for accessing it. So what’s stopping you? Go and check it out!
