A few weeks ago I was asked together with a few internal SAP community folks if we had some ideas around Planet Finance and micro loans and how we might be able to increase efficiency to lower costs and thus potentially the interest rates as well.

It was an interesting challenge considering several limitations on the end user side in terms of hardware and connectivity so we decided to go for an Adobe AIR based application with a local SQLite database. The following video is a short introduction to the application.

And the code will be made available if anyone would like to jump in and take on the last half of the application that needs to be completed.

So if you want to get involved please contact me and I will do what I can to get you invited to the closed beta of SAP code exchange landing page now on SDN so you can begin working on this, otherwiseonce Code Exchange goes public you can join then 🙂

    Hi Craig,

    Very impressed with the initiative.

I’m not really sure what a Basis geek can do for the project but If you find something that I can help with send me a message. I’ll happily put some hours into it.

    Regards

Funny I’m a basis geek 😉 actually will be lots to do and help with from testing to suggestions to performance tuning. They have limitations on their machines so we have to build something which does not run heavy on memory or CPU usage.
