What do Google Gadgets & IPhone Apps have to do with SAP?

Google Gadgets & iPhone Apps for SAP are some examples of the emerging category of applications call Enterprise Micro-Apps which are assuming an important role in extending the information and buisness transations from enterprise applications to light-weight apps that can be deployed on devices that permeate the current business user environment. The SAP Imagineering team has done some interesting work in this arena with some proof points established with a leading bio-tech company.

In addition, we recently spoke with executives from our partners SEAL consulting and LEAPFactor, who are at the leading edge of this enterprise micro-apps development. SEAL has developed a very interesting portfolio of Google Gadgets – ranging from Google Gadgets for Procurement, a micro-appthe drives business productivity by notifying users of any procurement events like shopping cart approvals or global agreement expirations in SAP SRM. Similarly, Google Gadgets for Financials period close notifications to the desktop and helps reduce delays in the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close. SEAL has created an impressive portfolio of these workflow notifications and have listed their solutions on SAP EcoHub.

LEAPFactor is another partner with a very interesting application called Executive Suite, that allows people to access corporate information from their smartphone, the same way that they access banking, movie times, and Facebook. The Executive Suite by LEAPFactor adresses six most common opportunities and information needs on the go, such as approvals, alerts, news and notes, electronic records, business KPIs tracking, and knowledge sharing including polls etc.

We have invited all thre teams SAP Imagineering, SEAL and LEAP to share details of their offerings in this Enterprise Micro-Apps Webinar Series that will be anchored on ECoHub.
