Facilitate Your Day-to-Day Work Life with BOC
As the person responsible for SAP BusinessObjects community (BOC) marketing, I strive to find and share information that helps members like you do their day-to-day job with more ease and less stress.
It’s a happy day in my life when I get to talk to community members willing to share their stories to impart their own experience to their peers (on the record). One of these stories is “ Accelerating time to value with BOC”.
Creating the story was a very good experience. Ingo Hilgefort, a BOC SAP Mentor, and I teamed up to find interesting BOC used cases, and the feedback we got was plentiful and varied (due to a large degree to the fact that Ingo is well-connected and liked). Members told us they use BOC for a range of areas from solving technical challenges on a daily basis, to preparing for customer meetings by reading up on SAP’s BI solutions ahead of time, or to answer questions and build their own reputation.
A main consensus was expressed by Michel Poupon, Studies Manager at Acome, who said: “Reading what other customers said about these products [SAP BusinessObjects portfolio] gave me confidence that the products would work as promised. It’s uncensored, so we could trust the information and move ahead with confidence.”
It was very educational to speak with people like Freddy Guerrero, Principal Partner at PGS and their customer REC who said that “when they ran into complex technical challenges regarding Xcelsius software, they quickly overcame them by reaching out to the SAP BusinessObjects community”. There’s nothing better than to hear that the community has served its purpose and provided value for a member.
And it was enriching to Skype with Eric LeDu, Managing Partner at Odaxys Consulting, who told me he finds that “there’s a great deal of information available through the SAP BusinessObjects community on how companies can solve just about any kind of problem they face. It’s amazing that it’s all available for free”.
