Restoring older document versions using Knowledge Warehouse
But there’s a way to restore older versions directly from Knowledge Warehouse.
Let’s take, for example, the “Test Document.txt”, saved in this project, using transaction SOLAR02.
We will edit the document (by clicking )
Change the content and save (by clicking )
And check the versions (by clicking and opening the tab History)
In transaction SI80 (SAP Knowledge Warehouse), we need to click to search for the document …
… select Solution Manager as the content area we are searching …
… and inform what we are looking for …
The system will show the document and inform the folder (in Knowledge Warehouse) where it is stored
Here we select the line and execute the menu Utilites | Version Management
Then you will have acess to all versions
Select the version you want to restore and click the button (Copy Version)
All done! Now you have back your old version, as a new (third) version.
Also: could I do the same activity from the SAP Knowledge Workbench Windows application? I always struggle with that one because of the fuctions being greyed out.
Could you extend the blog in that direction? Would be great, because it is the information I always was looking for.
Cheers e grazie
Markus
Thank you very much for your comments.
The release is directly related to the KW Context, that is determined by the language, the enhancement (i.e /KWCUST/ and the release enhancement itself. This information is used to organize information in KW.
There's a trick to discover the context of a project. Open the project in transaction SOLAR01 or SOLAR02 and type context_info in the command (transaction) field. This will tell you what information provide in SI80 when searching for project-specific documents.
Regarding SAP Knowledge Workbench, I don't use it very often. But you can find lots of helpful information in the further link.
