Flight Notes

30-some thousand feet.  US Air, 5 hours from Maryland to Arizona.
No hassles in check-in.
So far, the only thing I remember that I forgot or abandoned looking for was my noise canceling headphones.
Turns out the juveniles are in the back of the plane, plus there’s no one in the middle seat so I can stretch a bit.

And, trail mix costs $4.  So far, I’ve only been offered one cup of coffee, but 3 times been asked if I had any trash.  It’s a long day when you wake up in the woods before dawn and end up on a cross country flight by sunset.

Update – 9PM (EDT), and coffee refill has arrived.  All is forgiven.

Forgot to look and see if I had a map of Phoenix.

Spent about an hour trying to get my presentation straightened out (see rant).

I deliberately “broke the rules” to get the necessary image resolution in the slide deck; some but not all of my custom artwork was defaced.

I also went through, looking for acronyms to define, and for any place where an August deadline left stale content by October.

The light rail was a breeze – free bus from the airport terminal to Washington Street; kiosk was easy to handle.  I now have a 7 day pass for under $20, and was in my hotel room within an hour of getting my bag from the claim area.

In the hike from the light rail stop to the hotel, saw SAP’s Brian Bernard.  He said the Community Clubhouse is coming together, but needs more work tomorrow.

Well I’m taking off to airport in a few short hours and bummed to miss your sustainability session.  Take lots of notes, pictures, and document. And love the rail suggestion.  That’s sustainable thinking too.
