Did you use Report SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS? –
Monitor and administer optimized staging of data in the cube.
The size of the dimensions can be monitored in relation to the fact tables by running report SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS. The report reveals the dimensions to fact ratio and is an important tool to guide your decision of restructuring the cube dimensions.
Ideally the dimension tables should be less than 10% of the fact tables.
Needless to say try it on Sandbox, development system before attempting on production environment.
